Easy Solutions: Reading a Bible Verse a Day

The Bible is the cure-all to everything and engaging with the text and being able to deeply analyse and interpret it perfectly is something anyone at any literacy level can do. There's a reason it's only 3/4 million words long. It's simple stuff.

So wait, I know what you're thinking: "I thought you weren't trying to cure yourself from The Wilderness,™ I thought you were trying to embrace it?" Stop being such a hater!

Reading the Good Word for half an hour every day is the best way to convince yourself that you are welcoming, truly welcoming, this season of The Wild™ and that you are grateful for this journey and accept that you will be spiritually ground down and refined by the Lord. Dust, but Holy dust. Just open the Good Book at random and you'll find the Holy Wisdom you need to silence your soul.

Prayers are also excellent for moments when you feel human emotions. As a wife, it is unacceptable to put your own emotions before your husband or children, or the Lord Himself. It is sinful actually to acknowledge your emotions at all, even more sinful to act upon them. So whenever you have moments where you feel like The Wilderness™ is about to swallow you whole as all four of your toddlers are screaming at you, ask the Lord in that moment to bless you with the patience you need. Thank him as you welcome patience into your life. This is the refinement in action as you feel your sense of person-hood slip away.

Of course, once you acknowledge that sometimes you need a little help from the Lord, it is important that you do absolutely nothing with it. Never ever mention your needs and wants to your husband. His role is not to fill your cup if he doesn't feel like it. That is nagging. So stay silent and get ready to white-knuckle the next 40 years.

Here are some random verses and some easy interpretations of them:

Romans 5:15

But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!

So this means that The Wild™ is not like the trespass, whatever the trespass is. And while The Wilderness™ may have killed many, it's actually a gift and if it kills you, it's because you are even more blessed by the Lord. Also the gift of The Wild™ only comes from the Lord because only He loves you enough to give you such a gift. Now be quiet, woman.

John 3:18

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

This verse is PROOF that The Wild™ is a test of your faith of the Lord and if you reject The Wilderness™, then you stand condemned.

Matthew 5:3

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The more that The Wilderness™ breaks your spirit, the more you belong in the kingdom of heaven.

1 Corinthians 12:13

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body- whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free, as we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

This means whatever your background, there is no excuse for not allowing the Lord into your heart. Therefore, anyone can go through The Wild™ and be blessed by the Lord, no matter who they are.

Romans 1:7b

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Further proof that the Lord brought you The Wild™ and spiritual turmoil to bring you peace... eventually.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

What else is there to say? No matter what you do with your life, no matter ow bleak The Wilderness™ feels, the Lord promises you will prosper! Eventually some day, with enough faith and enough suffering, He shall reward you greatly!

James 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

This means that prayer makes you smart and you don't have to listen to what anyone else says.

Proverbs 12:16

Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.

Honestly, I don't know what this one means and it doesn't make sense.

Matthew 3:48

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Stop crying in the shower and be a perfect wife and make your husband a sandwich!

Proverbs 19:22

What a person desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar.

If you desire love, then you shall suffer, be poor if you will, in The Wild™ for this is better than to lie to yourself that you actually need a divorce.
